A quick look at a number of things happening close together in a very short time.

Spring and summer seem to be the most intense period for demo parties and the releases that come with them. Plus there are a few stories which we could well miss, if we’re not careful.

Firstly, we’ve just had the second edition of the genre bending Buxton Bytes parties.

A bit like Sommerhack, but with more dampness and with some properly unusual competitions. After a week to recover in, most of the entries are now available.

Outline 2026 has just taken place this weekend. A much more detailed write-up is forthcoming from elsewhere, but a number of Atari related productions are already available to download from Demozoo - https://demozoo.org/parties/5471/

This demo  https://demozoo.org/productions/391636/ looks very promising.

It looks like some Vectrex style vector line alien busting action is being made available to an ST near you. A Gemtos 2026 game preview of a new game called Vector Quest can be found at https://demozoo.org/productions/391607/

At the same party, a new Jaguar game, Racer 3D was also spotted.

You might remember I announced a new Amiga *cough* diskmag a little while ago. The reason being that I had some personal involvement with it. Well, in record time (for 2026 timescales), that ‘difficult’ second issue has now been released!

Adventures in Retro issue 2 is now a thing. It does feature more contributions from yours truly and can be downloaded from https://www.adv-in-retro.uk/downloads/issue-2-may-2026

Support for other formats isn’t happening just yet, but never say never.

I’m going to remind everyone to keep an eye on the soon forthcoming next edition of the 68K Inside Party from 22.5.26. Will this bring forth the new standard in Sinclair QL demos? Will we see the first big Sharp 68000 production? Or even anything closer to home with a Fuji logo?

Well I’ll leave this link here -  https://demozoo.org/parties/5457/- It’s a bit quiet at the moment, but keep an eye for when the time comes.

Okay, that’ll do for now. Be back later.
